It’s an exciting time of year for Manchester – the lights are on, the crowds are gathering: it’s time for another Future Artists exhibition! This year we are proud to present the highly gifted photo-realist artist, Clayton Whitter, a local Salfordian whose incredibly talented and unique masterpieces will be on show to the public at Virgin Money Lounge, King Street for one week only. The launch celebration will take place on Thursday 11th December (tickets available here), with the show then continuing to remain open to the public with free admission from Friday 12th until Friday 19th December.

Don’t miss the opportunity to feast your eyes on the sheer detail and intricacy of Clayton’s work, which really does need to be seen in person to fully appreciate the unbelievable realism in his drawings – you’ll have never seen anything like it!

In a truly unique and surprising twist, Whitter brings his delicate intricate work together with the bare and grubby pavement of the English city centre, which is the humble space he selects as his artistic studio. In this creative amalgamation, the precious drawings are subjected to a series of environmental threats such as food and drink, pesky street pigeons, and even the wheels of a wayward wheelchair. Rightfully titled ‘Damaged Goods’, the collection boasts an exciting array of mixed media creations, depicting a family of pop-culture subjects including Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and popular bands such as The Beatles and Joy Division, each with their own unique story and deeper aesthetic meaning. All prints will be available to purchase at the exhibition, so come along for a browse for your potential new collection piece!
