DEVISE TO DELIVER 2

by Asha

Do you have an idea for a film or transmedia experience? Or an immersive cross-platform tweety, facebookey, tumbled, hash-tagged thing that needs new funding and distribution options?

Do you want to get funding and an audience for it?

Sheffield Doc/Fest and Crossover Labs, supported by Creative Skillset, are delighted to announce the return of Devise to Deliver (D2D), a groundbreaking 7-month training scheme designed for innovative filmmakers and mediamakers wishing to broaden their understanding of the possibilities of digital media, including developing multiplatform business skills, and embracing new ways to fund, distribute and market films and cross-platform projects through digital technology. D2D will also train you if you’re interested in becoming a leading Producer of Marketing and Distribution (PMD) and supporting the impact of a slate of films and digital projects with your knowledge.

D2D is a 6-stage course with regional introductory sessions in December 2012, a masterclass day in February 2013 spotlighting case studies from leaders in innovation, a market-preparation day in March 2013 providing support in presenting projects to funders and audiences, with the programme culminating in the Crossover Market at Sheffield Doc/Fest in June 2013. The Crossover Market is based on Doc/Fest’s hugely successful MeetMarket model, where participants will have the opportunity to pitch projects to digital market experts in matchmade meetings. Individual mentoring is offered throughout and includes the mutual devising of a tailored invite list of experts to meet in the Crossover Market.

“I gained a huge amount of new information and insight into the digital world, and this has in turn boosted my confidence, and enabled me to become a more self-sufficient filmmaker and business-person. On top of that, I found a new group of colleagues all inspired and motivated by the ethos of the people behind D2D: combining genuine editorial independence with creative innovation and effective business-mindedness. “‘ (Devise to Deliver trainee)

The programme is open to anyone working on any platform for any genre (it’s not just about documentaries!)

Attendance at Stage 1 costs £50+VAT. Attendance from Stage 2 to Stage 6, the Crossover Market, costs £400+VAT and is based on a selection process.

This extra cost includes a full delegate pass to Sheffield Doc/Fest 2013.
