I’m Frank Morgan (The Play)

Written by Joe O’Byrne, Directed by Ian Curley

The Original Tale from Paradise Heights

Frank’s a hard man in a dirty old town. Loan shark and poker player, owner of the infamous Ace of Spades Night Club in Paradise Heights. He’s taken on some of the hardest of adversaries, they’ve all ended up broken…or buried. But tonight, he’s taking on his toughest opponent of all…himself.

Reviews:

‘O’Byrne delivers a mesmeric and utterly disturbing performance that contrasts magnificently with his earlier, well established hard-nosed portrayal’

Brian Gorman, thepublicreviews.com

‘Curley ensures that this is a play rather than just a monologue…(his) direction runs contrary to the script and the result compels the audience to consider the play from a different point of view. A fundamental re-interpretation, retains its original power and becomes a more theatrical experience…a vivid new version of an old favourite…’

Dave Cunningham, whatsonstage.com

‘This is a powerful and compelling script with a horrific ending that will haunt those who see it, although perhaps not nearly as much as it haunts Morgan.’

David Chadderton, The British Theatre Guide
