KEEP THE VENUE ALIVE AND INDIE! The Black Lion Gallery Launch

by Asha

Future Artists, Salford’s film studio, will be holding a unique social experiment in The Black Lion, to celebrate their 1 year anniversary at the venue.

We’ve invited award-winning Salford artist ‘Starvin Artist’ to launch a new gallery to celebrate The Black Lion. Starvin’ Artist has had residencies all over the world including Barcelona of late, and now he is resident curator at The Black Lion. The gallery launch will include artwork from renowned Manchester illustrator Barney Ibbotson and Chris Howker.

THE EVENT WILL BE HELD AT THE BLACK LION, 6.30pm on the 20th JULY.

We’re inviting arts graduates, people in the creative and digital industries  – but particularly those who feel restricted from making their first step – to gather and help decide what teaching programmes, films and music nights should be held at the venue which would best benefit Salford.

Prior to the Not Part Of The Bullingdon Club festival, which takes place in October, we need your suggestions, input and ideas and for any new co-operatives and community groups to help decide the future and keep the venue alive.
